Some of Betty's critiques :

Show: BERKSHIRE DOWNS & CHILTERNS GOLDEN RETRIEVER CLUB

Venue: The Kennel Club Building, Stoneleigh Park, Warwick CV8 2LZ

Date of Judging: 5th November 2023

Judge: Lynn Kipps

1st Williamson Mr SD & Mrs TY THORNYWAIT ATOMIC BETTY FOR SANDTI

Beautiful 9 year old bitch shown in full bloom. Such a happy showgirl, with the most beautiful expression and eyes that look lovingly into her owner’s eyes. Very balanced conformation, short coupled, nothing overdone. She is in great muscular condition and defied her age on the move with such a lovely free moving gait. Pleased to award her BSVB and in agreement with my co- judge Cheryl, she went on to be awarded BSVIS.

Limit: 1st Feminine head with well shaped eye, clean neck into layback of shoulder, good bone, neat feet. Well ribbed body, short coupled, strong hindquarters with well let down hocks, moved out freely with a good stride length.

Elisabeth Pope (CRUFTS 2020)

Have admired this bitch from the ringside and was not disappointed when she was presented to be in immaculate condition. She has a great profile with everything in proportion and no exaggerations. The most beautiful of heads and what about those amazing kind eyes which give her that totally feminine and kind expression. Strong neck flowing into the withers. Ground straight front with tight feet. Super forehand construction. Mature, well muscled body with good thigh width. Above all I like her length of leg. Moved with style. RCC

Mr J Richardson (City of Birmingham Championship show 2019)

Limit Bitch: Another super class that warranted two cuts. 1st - Thornywait Atomic Betty For Sandti. Super condition on this young lady. Stands four square on good straight forelegs. Neat feet. Short coupled with good angulation fore & aft. Good width in hindquarters. Balanced & well developed in body with good depth to chest. Liked her height to length ratio. Level topline, tail well set. Hocks neat & straight. Expertly & quietly handled to get the best from this young lady on the move.

Mrs H Mell (Meloak) (LKA Championship show 2019)

1st – My notes say beautiful, standing four square with no exaggerations & lovely outline, lovely head & dark pigment, excellent construction, strong long neck & well laid back shoulders & upper arm, level topline & good rear angulation in excellent hard condition which allowed her to move around the ring with drive, pleased to award her the CC.

Mrs D J Vernon  (Gundog Society of Wales Championship show)

1st Appealed to me very much. Well angulated front & rear & good width of thigh. Lovely flow of neck into the withers. Strong level topline. Most beautiful feminine head & dark eye. Excellent true flowing movement. Was a serious contender for top honours today. Lovely Type. Her day should come.

Audrey Richardson (United Retriever Championship show August2019)

1st. Standing four square she presents a very pleasing outline, well off for bone & substance. Well sprung in rib & short coupled in body, a lovely bend of stifle and well let down hocks completed the picture. She showed to advantage.

                                                   Mrs Penny Lane-Ridyard  (SKC August2019)

"Lovely bitch with super head & eye. Correct front & good front & rear angulation. Good body proportions with frim topline. Stood four square with wagging tail and attentive to handler. Moved well".

Beryl Stokes (Scottish Breeds 2019 )

"Liked this girl very much for her total balance & showmanship, standing four square wagging her tail. Lovely type, very pretty head & expression. Well-made shoulders & quarters, with good body proportions. Good feet, bone & condition. Superbly handled floating around the ring effortlessly, considered her for the RCC".

Ruth Turner (City of Birmingham 2018 )

"Liked this girl a lot, mid gold beautiful head shape dark eyes giving very soft expression, everything flowed well from head to tail, angles fore and aft presented a balanced picture, moved out well with drive".

Hazel Gripton   (Leeds Championship show 2018)

"Very nicely constructed girl of merit, so well turned out & presented in first rate coat & condition. I liked her feminine head & pleasing expression. Really good reach of neck with the straightest of fronts, level in top line flowing through to her correct tail set and well constructed rear assembly. Her movement was true  level & positive which she used to full advantage as she flowed around the ring".

Roy Maynard (GRCW Champ Show 2018)

"Very attractive girl in lovely coat and condition. Balanced in outline with correct angulation front and rear. Moved out with drive holding her  level topline. Good depth to chest"

Susan Wharfe (Manchester Champ Show 2018)

"I awarded Best Gundog to Williamson's Thornywait Atomic Betty For Sandti, a high quality golden retriever in her prime, shows super overall balance, correct skull, dark expressive eyes, true front, good rib cage, strong through the body, level topline, wide rugged hindquarters, moved soundly  and turned out in a super coat and condition, a class act".

Alister Watt (Kilmarnock DCC Open 2018)

"Lovely pale bitch with gorgeous head, nice dark eye & pigment, gently expression. Well off for bone, good reach of neck & nice straight front. Well balanced baby with nice tight feet & level topline. Lovely hind angulation. Moved well & was weel presented & handled.
